Hey fight fans I’ve got a little info if you’re in the UFC style fighting here in the south. Just north of Dallas the Choctaw Nation has a brand new casino at Durant that’s grand opening this week and they’re kicking off things with some big events, one of which is the Red River Rumble. I’m talking about mixed martial arts fighting this Saturday the 20th, 12 fights in one night and the tickets are fairly cheap as low as like $15 for general admission. Plus you can get your gamble on with the slots, poker and blackjack!

You just might catch me there checking it out, maybe even taking some pics to share with all the people. For those of you that don’t know Durant, OK is just about one hour north of Dallas on the I-75 and here’s some info and the fight card, as well as a link to come soon. Check it out if you like to see some kick ass fighting, I know I do. Supposedly the former UFC heavyweight champ Andre Arlovski is supposed to be making a guest appearance as well.

It must have been destiny or maybe something more but the Steelers got lucky yesterday in the big one when it counted. I had them picked to the beat the Seahawks by two touchdowns and I was damn near close on that one but what I didn’t pick was for them to play so bad and for the refs to be so sloppy. Maybe if I was a Seahawks fan I would be more angry but that officiating was just a little sloppy and that just can’t happen in the big game. I can only imagine had it been my Raiders in there how bad it would have been, but then again that’s just me imagining. (more…)

It’s Super Bowl week the longest week of the year for football fans, especially if you’re a Raiders fan like me and you’re team is only thinking about the draft and another new coach. So who’s your money on this year a Steelers team that’s coming in looking strong and smashing all of the top seeds or a Seahawks team that finished in first place but is getting no respect? Let me know who you’re taking and what you think, I’m going with the Steelers on this one. I’d like to see Jerome Bettis bust up that Seahawks defense for a couple TD’s and a Super Bowl win. Old school football is what I like to see, what about you?

Just remember David Stern doesn’t want the NBA to be hip hop with the new dress code and neither do the corporate sponsors and tv people. So it’s a new season and a new dress code and to me the funniest part of the dress code wasn’t the shirt with collar or dress pants and shoes, it’s the no pendants. What kind of shit is that, so you can wear a suit but not a necklace now? So yeah the NBA isn’t hip hop and are you watching, the ratings say you aren’t. The game are getting boring and the game is getting weaker all the time. Dunks sure you see some dunks, but if you want nothing but dunks you can watch those AND1 cats do their thing. So are you going to be watching the NBA this season and supporting the league that doesn’t want your hip hop culture in it, after they used it for the last 5 years to build?

Oh man I know it’s not really south related so much but this shit is cracking me up with TO and the Eagles, or TO and McNabb. Those are the latest words to TO from McNabb today, keep my name out of your mouth, is pretty much what he told him. This is beautiful and even more fun to watch, maybe we can get these two in a Celebrity Boxing ring, now that shit would be priceless. I’ll put my money on TO, but I don’t really like either of these cats, or the Eagles for that matter. So blow it up, keep the drama going, I’m going to grab some popcorn and watch these two cornballs battle til the end!

Looks like our boy Master P still thinks he can ball and maybe the Sacramento Kings do to. Either way AllHipHop has got the story on the Sacramento Kings hitting P with an invite to play on their summer league team. Do they think he can ball or is it just another publicity move by the smart Maloof boys who own the Kings. Yeah I guess for it being a Texas thing I’m happy about it. But I’ll tell you in a minute that the Spurs are our most boring team without a doubt. Much love to the Spurs for taking down a good quality Detroit team in a hell of a series that I’ll admit I didn’t even watch 1 game of it. Had it been the Rockets or Mavs I’m sure I would have watched every game, but I can’t get up for the Spurs. Tim Duncan is a man, one of the best players in the league without a doubt. The rest of the Spurs are good and coming up, Robert Horry, he’s always doing the same thing for 10 damn years it seems like. So congrats Spurs, enjoy another title and props to Texas for another title.

Oh and you won’t see me celebrating if the fucking Cowboys win, cause I bleed Silver and Black for the Raiders!

Man I don’t even know what to say. I’ve always been a huge Mike Tyson fan regardless of what he’s done. We all know the guy’s got issues and we all do, his are shown in the public and we’re all lucky that ours aren’t. Tonight though, Mike came out and gave it real hard try, he went after the guy and the guy was withstanding it. But in the 6th round, Mike got penalized and was maybe starting to lose his cool a little bit with headbutts and a armlock. The ref took away 2 points from him and near the end of the round McBride pushed him to the ground. At the start of the 7th round, Tyson didn’t come out, he quit. He didn’t want to fight anymore, his heart wasn’t in it. I think mentally it’s hard for athletes to get to the point where they’re body doesn’t do what their mind is telling it. (more…)

You know I don’t know if many of you guys have noticed but Mike Tyson is about to fight again this weekend. It’s not getting alot of press and it is on pay per view but damn I’m interested as always. Throughout my life I’ve loved boxing, loved watching boxing and I’m a huge James Toney fan. But Mike Tyson has always been the 2nd favorite and probably most exciting. If you’re anything like most people hate Mike or love him you want to see him and his fights. We don’t know what might happen and what Mike will show up and I know I’m always hoping to see a little of what I saw before he went to prison. That vicious hook and that power landing right on the chin of anyone and a quick KO. Fuck I wish Mike could be champ again.
