I know it seems like we’ve been waiting forever but the new Bun B solo joint dropped yesterday and I already copped it and I’m listening to it right now as I type this shit up. It’s pretty hot, but we already knew it was going to be. This should only be a prelude though to that boy Pimp C coming home and finally another UGK album hopefully in the spring of 06. Cop this shit right now at your local record store, support a mom and pop shop if you can, or hit a Tower Records if you’ve got to, I’m sure it’s available in most chain stores too. Either way I’ve also got a brand new Bun B interview to share with you that Ozone Magazine the hottest mag for southern hip hop news and interviews dropped done by that boy Matt Sonzala from Houston So Real now Associate Editor at Ozone. Give Ice-T Some Respect Finally

by DigiPimp on Sep.25, 2005, under Interviews

Yeah he’s not southern hip hop but I don’t give a fuck. Much respect goes to the man Ice T who gets overlooked in the world of hip hop so many times it seems. I’ve been an Ice T fan for many many years, way back since after I started listening to hip hop, I remember buying that Ice T OG album when I was just a kid and going off into my own world with that shit in my headphones. And that’s not even where it all started for the man who’s a rap game legend in my mind and in that of the true fans of hip hop. AllHipHop.com caught up with the man and found out what he’s up to and what’s on his mind. Never to be short on words Ice T is definitely dropping more knowledge that you should all be soaking up so check it out. (continue reading…)

Chamillionaire Making Noise

by DigiPimp on Sep.14, 2005, under Interviews

You already know that Houston rap has been blowing up, the scene is fire right now. Billboard charts, MTV, BET, MTV2, magazine covers it’s everywhere, with names like Lil Flip, Paul Wall, Mike Jones and cats like that. But if you know Houston rap you know there’s a name from that same area that’s missing from the spotlight and has yet to really shine. That’s the boy Chamillionaire, once partnered up with that boy Paul Walk. Cham and Paul were a hot duo here in the south but had a falling out. Well Cham is ready to shine, he feels like it’s his time and that he’s got the hottest flow from the scene. I’ll admit his flow is pretty raw, but does he have what it takes. He’s one person I’ve never been able to get ahold of for an interview, one person who could use some positive press and getting his shit out there so who knows. AllHipHop caught up with the man to see what he’s got to say. Check it out (continue reading…)

Paul Wall – Smile For Me

by DigiPimp on Sep.13, 2005, under Interviews

Alright I’m back again with some more from and about your boy Paul Wall. Just one year ago nearly unknown to those outside of our Houston scene he’s on the verge of blowing up even bigger than Mike Jones. All over MTV, MTV2 and Reebok ads flying in magazines he’s on that edge and with the new album drop and likely new singles and videos he’s about to be the next big thing. AllHipHop catches up with the man once again with a brand new interview and info on the things he’s got in the works. Look for your boy to blow up, It was only a matter of time, let’s just hope in the face of the MTV crowd he can stay real to representing H-Town the way we all want him to. (continue reading…)

Young City – Still Hustlin

by DigiPimp on Sep.08, 2005, under Interviews

Alright so I’m sure many of you remember Chopper AKA Young City from MTV and Diddy’s Making the Band and the eventually formed group Da Band. Defnitely failure if you ask me as is most everything Diddy touches in the last 5 years plus easily longer. Well he’s back and he’s not in Da Band, Da Band no longer exists in fact with all of them attempting to go and do the solo thing now. Well Diddy gave Chopper a shot at solo fame and money and here’s what he’s been doing with it so far.

First thing I’ll tell you is my opinion, the current single getting a little air time on BET called Lil Daddy. Basically it’s horrible, this kid was never much of a rapper, he was alright in moments but as a whole not real good and not much of a representative of the south. I mean you watched the show on MTV, the kid was a punk or bitch, whatever word you want to use. The single smells of overproduced, overhyped garbage, and that’s about what Diddy does with music these days. So anyway enough of what I think, here’s the interview Ballerstatus hooked up. (continue reading…)
