Alright guys so today I got my disc to test out 25 to Life online before it hits the streets. I played for an hour or so and I think a lot of you guys will be into it. I can’t comment much on specifics or show pics like I would like to, it breaks my agreement and they’ll cancel me from stuff like this in the future. But I can say that the rap music is nice, I like listening to Geto Boys while I’m shooting someone. It feels real similar to SOCOM but not quite the same. The characters and everything looks alright, the weapons are pretty cool. They’ve definitely got some things to work on and all of us testing it out are sending in reports so that they can polish it more for the final release to the streets in a month or so.

The maps we get to test are pretty nice, some are pretty big and of course pimped out like you would expect for a game like this. The music is a pretty big deal to them in this game evidently since there are radios around the map where you can change songs while you’re playing. You see guys fighting over songs and getting sh0t in the back while changing the song. I think it’s going to be a solid and slightly popular game but won’t ever be as good as the coming SOCOM 3. That’s what my money will be on, but we’ll see how well Eidos (the company that makes 25 to Life) listens to our feedback and polishes the game for release.

So what’s up, you guys looking forward to this 25 to Life game? I’ve been checking it out, Swat Team vs Gang Members in the city and shit. I’m even supposed to be in the online beta test. For those of you that don’t know what that means it’s when the company sends out the game for play to a select group of people to play and test for a short time before the game is released. So I should be getting my hands on it next week to see what’s up. But anyway you know the government is all up in our shit and they want to shut this down, check it out.

Once again the heat is on developers of violent video games as Sen. Charles Schumer, a Democrat from New York has targeted 25 to Life; an upcoming game which the Senator claims makes the Grand Theft Auto games look like “Romper Room” (a popular Children’s TV Show in the U.S.). The video game is due out this summer. In the game you can either choose the side of gangs or the side of the law. The Senator wants this “cop killer” game boycotted by retailers and even calls on Microsoft and Sony to end their licensing agreements with Eidos.

Most gamers are familiar with the controversy that has surrounded Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas for the past months. The violent game was used as an example by lawmakers who are worried about the influence these games may have on children. “The last thing we need here in New York is to reinforce a destructive culture of violence and disrespect for the law. Little Johnny should be learning how to read, not how to kill cops,” Schumer said. However game makers would argue that these games are not intended for children.

The sale of these “violent” games makes up a huge part of the industries $10 billion in annual U.S. sales. GTA: San Andreas was released in October 2004 and quickly became a best seller. Retailers and console manufacturers try to avoid the controversy of violent games, mainly due to the success of the games. The problema lot of lawmakers have the games is that they seem to get more violent as they go along due to the developers’ need to make the games more realistic. 25 to Life features gun battles between police and criminal gangs, in which human shields are used.

The controversy seems very similar to past controversy over violent movies and will likely have a similar outcome.

I don’t know about you guys but I play my PS2 online and I’ve been a Socom addict for almost a year now. Nothing like getting on there at 4 in the morning, talking shit and shooting people. So I heard about this game 25 to Life, it’s going to be like Socom but in the hood. That’s right street thugs and gang bangers against the police SWAT team. Now that’s something that I can feel, getting my internet thug on late at night with a gang of dudes from across the south talking shit and shooting people online when I’m bored and can’t sleep. Anyway they released the soundtrack news yesterday and the dirty dirty got a couple tracks recognized. So get in here and check out the track listing to see what made the cut for you to bob your head to while you drink some purple sprite and shoot heads in the late night.

KRS-ONE – Black Cop
2Pac featuring Nutso – Ghetto Star
Gangstarr – Code of the Streets
Geto Boys – Yes Yes Ya’ll
Ghostface Killah featuring Jadakiss – Run
Public Enemy – Black Steel in the Hour of Chaos
Xzibit – Enemies
Jackpot – To the Finish
UTP Playas – Nolia Clap
Tech N9ne – My Wife My Bitch My Girl
Tego Caldron – Circa De Mi Neighborhood
Grafh – Bad Company
Shade Sheist & N.U.N.E. – You Got
Locura Terminal – Prisonero
Blaze feat/Esham and ABK – Shot-gun

I think I can definitely feel most of what they threw on there. Now let’s see if some of the hoods on the game are in the dirty dirty so you can do it up. This game is supposed to drop next month, but we’ll see.

Hmmm seems like it’s going to be interesting and have some cool feautures, but I gotta tell you I’m a PS2 man and I imagine I’ll still be one for a long time. I’m still looking forward to shooting some heads on Socom 3 and hearing about the new Playstation and the games this month at E3, not to mention knocking out some hoes on Madden again! Peek inside for the pic ….

Looks like a headset, and eye toy type of camera, wireless control and who knows what else. Supposedly a wireless remote control type of device, a dvd-rw, and more goodies to be included.
