David Banner “9mm” & THAT CROOK’D SIPP

by DigiPimp on Jun.01, 2007, under Dirt, Flows

david bannerYeah now we can really talk about the south. Plenty of love for Texas but we’ve got some David Banner today and a link to download his new single ‘9mm’ with Lil Wayne, Akon and Snoop. Banner is still reppin for the crooked letter of Mississippi and has a lot going on these days including THAT CROOK’D SIPP.

Maybe you haven’t heard of it yet, but THAT CROOK’D SIPP is Banner’s own cartoon on the Cartoon Network Adult Swim. Banner addresses criticism by saying,

“People always try to put the responsibility of their children on everyone else,” Banner said. “Children shouldn’t be up that late anyway, but honestly, they probably need to watch my show and learn something. I live for controversy now because that’s what America wants. As much as they point fingers at everybody else, America is the most violent, lustful country in the world.” (continue reading…)

“Cold In the Game” Single from HAWK

by DigiPimp on Feb.07, 2007, under Flows

If you remember it wasnt so long ago that Big HAWK passed at the hands of another man or men in Houston. HAWK was part of the Houston hip hop movement for many years and deep in the rap game from back to DJ Screw and the Screwed Up Click. His murder is still unsolved and we’ve got new material from HAWK as they’re about to drop a release of his album and material he put together in the time leading up to his death. Have a listen to the new single and call your southern radio stations and request it by name. Check it out in the sidebar MP3 player and let us know what you think!

Lil’ Flip feat. Lyfe Jennings – ‘Ghetto Mindstate’ Video

by DigiPimp on Jan.12, 2007, under Flows

lil flipYes he’s still around and no he’s not gone in hiding or given up the rap game for watches or jewelry. Lil Flip aka a million other names is about to drop a new album in the very near future and here’s the brand new video from that upcoming album. It’s “Ghetto Mindstate” which features the smooth vocals of none other than Lyfe Jennings as Flip raps and reminices about life and living in the Ghetto Mindstate as he’s calling it.

If this is a preview of what we can expect on this album then I think Flip is well on his way back to the top of the charts and the hearts of the south. Having fallen off with mindless hooks of pop music and tracks of nothing but love for jewelry and himself the boy was slipping out of the minds of the Texas crowd and living for the masses. Because I’m still that close to the hood, know what I’m saying?” “Bury Me A G” also incorporates another song titled “Jeezy” into the middle of the video. Young Jeezy “I Luv It” Audio

by DigiPimp on Nov.14, 2006, under Flows

young jeezySo it seems they’re pushing Jeezy’s latest single to see what the people on the streets think and if they’re feeling it. I’ll tell you I first heard it on the latest Southern Smoke mixtape and it’s got some of that flavor that you remember liking Jeezy for when you first heard it. It’s not the club type track exactly, it’s back to being more of the story telling and the street feel that you would probably rather hear in your car.

So click on inside and get up on the links to listen to the song and let me know what you think. I gotta say it’s decent sounding, I’m not so sure that I’m a huge Jeezy fan, but I like some of what he’s doing. This track isn’t bad, but I’m sure it’s only a taste of what’s to come on his new LP. So peep the link and listen to the track inside. (continue reading…)
