It’s a sad day in Texas and Southern Hip Hop. Pimp C has passed away this morning and its not a joke or a rumor. He’s gone, the godfather of Texas rap some would call him. I am young woman from Detroit, and I have been listening to UGK since the tender age of nine. A lot of people say that rappers should be conscious of there lyrics because of the strong influence they have on a culture full of children who grow up without visible male role models. UGK is apart of my existence because they have always kept it real with me no matter good bad or ugly, I got wisdom and guidance from those men that made me the strong woman that I am today. Pimp C will go down in the Hip Hop book of life as a legend. He was light years ahead of his time, and now he joins the ancestors to continue to be a source of strength for all who remember him.
