No DJ Smallz hasn’t passed away but as far as DJ Scream and HoodRich are concerned his mixtapes in the south have. So there you get RIP DJ Smallz, the HoodRich crew has addressed the southern DJ on many levels in this latest mixtape and it sounds pretty good whether you feel the beef or not. So what’s the beef, well you can hear a little about it in various moments on the mixtape in between tracks, but I’m guessing they aren’t too happy with what they say is Smallz copying or stealing styles and ideas. Either way you can feel this mix pretty much from start to finish and it’s a strong statement for the crew from Hotlanta.

This mix is filled with big names from Lil Wayne to Bun B and even people like Rick Ross who’s blowing up southern radio stations on his own right now. 24 tracks and a few remixes of already well known tracks gives you plenty to nod your head to as you swang on hot weekend in the south. Some of the stronger tracks suprisingly are:

Of course the rest of the mix is worth listening to. Maybe it’s just me but I like some of the DJ Smallz mixes but I stay out of the beefs most of the time since they’re usually a waste of time. Either way DJ Scream could definitely continue to build on what he’s done and I’m sure things are going to build. The beats and remixes are solid, I’m not much for the Atlanta artists personally but for many of you that are you’ll enjoy what he does and the mixes are always cheap. You can’t buy better shit in the store for $15 a fucking CD, so cop this shit and let the man know you appreciate his work at his website DJ Scream!
