UTP The Movement Vol. 2 Review

So one of the mix cd’s that I got hooked up with just the other day by my people at MixUnit.com is the DJ Ideal & Juvenile – UTP The Movement Volume 2. So I’ve been checking it out and threw it on my iPod so that I could peep it all day as I was driving around Dallas yesterday. So what impression did I get, well I’ll tell you it’s a hot mix and the beats are there, the lyrics are there and this one even has an edge because Juve has something to say about Hurricane Katrina, the people of the NOLA, the government and everyone else that was part or didn’t take part in the disaster.
As soon as it starts up the intro is throwing all the hits that you knew from Juve mixed into audio of the Mayor of New Orleans from one of his press conferences. It’s clear that Juve hasn’t left the NOLA and a hurricane and strife isn’t about to make him leave. He’s of course got the UTP with him that’s Skip and Wacko, so you know it’s on soon as they start breaking it down after the intro. 36 tracks deep for the whole mix and if you want to pick tracks out that you’re going to hit the button to replay them then there are many.
Start with track 3 with Juve called Got That Work, straight dropping lyrics the whole time barely taking any time to breathe over a hot beat this song is one that you’re going to listen to more than once. But if you’re looking for something hot like you’re used to then number 12 Juve’s remix of Come Out Yo Laundry is perfect for the club or stripper you’ve got up in your crib. You’ve also got audio from New Orleans about Katrina or Juve talking about what he thinks about the situation throughout the whole thing and he’s not holding back on the shots he’s sending out.
Track 19 is by far my favorite because of the deep reggae feel and sound to Juve getting real over the beat. It’s the perfect, track 19 called Same Hustle Different Day is the one that stands out to me above all else, too bad it’s a short one. I could definitely feel this breaking out into single material or something a little bigger because I know it’s going to be a favorite. Overall it’s a hot Mix CD and filled with better quality shit than 90% of the other mixes out there right now, so drop the $6 a MixUnit.com to cop that shit and thank me later. Here’s the tracklist and you can peep a few tracks off the shit in the sidebar of the site for a little while.
